Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a statutory title bestowed on qualified accountants who have obtained a degree of higher eductation, passed stringent testing, and met the experience requirements of their licensing state. Unlike other accounting or tax designations (i.e. Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent, or Tax Preparer), CPAs are held to a higher ethical and industry standard by their licensing board, and are permitted to perform more specialty services that others are not, such as audits and public attestation opinions on financial statements.
Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, as opposed to one who uses the QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation, is one who has completed extensive training in the QuickBooks programs and completed the required testing for each year of certification.
